Healthcare consulting company looks to promote medical tourism in Southeast Asia

Bangkok – December, 2014. AJT Consultancy, a Bangkok-based healthcare and hospitality consulting company, has unveiled its new wellness facility project in Malaysia as it encourages medical and health service providers in Thailand to reach beyond country borders to gain more access to international customers and promote medical tourism at home in the era of Asean Economic Community (AEC).

The project, called Sungai Pulai Wellness Resort, is a mixed-use development on a 74.46-acre plot of land located at the edge of a rich mangrove environment of Sungai Pulai Heritage Wetlands, in the Flagship Zone C of Iskandar Malaysia southern development corridor in Johor. It will consist of 1,351 residential units in four zones, together with a wellness clubhouse and a hotel, with the convergence of nature, green building design, wellness and age-friendly architectural design to deliver ideal pre- and post-retirement living as well as multi-generation living.

In addition to common indoor and outdoor facilities, the residents will be able to enjoy some basic and non-invasive wellness therapies at a minimum charge such as physiotherapy, chiropractic, antioxidant and detox therapy, and activities like body buildup, yoga and pilates.

The resort is developed by Dimensi Panorama, a well-known property developer in Malaysia under the MB Group, while AJT Consultancy is responsible for providing exclusive and personalized ‘concierge medical services’ at the four-storey Wellness Clubhouse, which is situated below the eight-storey hotel in the same building. The 150,000-square-feet Clubhouse will provide nutrition consultation, medical consultation, recovery and non-invasive treatments. Residents with medical needs will be connected to the right medical facilities and physicians from any part of Malaysia as well as abroad.

Sugai Pulai Wellness Resort is scheduled to be introduced early next year.  Construction of the first phase, which includes two residential areas and the Wellness Clubhouse, is expected to be complete in 2017.

AJT Consultancy is also working with Hong Kong Xinying Medical Group  in a medical tourism programme named ‘Dr Bangkok’. The programme offers Chinese clients the access to Thai hospitality and healthcare services through a combination of travelling, health screening and treatment programmes focusing on hormone and regenerative therapy.
